Tata Motors will launch world’s cheapest car Tata Nano in the neighbouring Nepalese market next month. Tata Motor is already getting ready to market the model in the international market for long time now and Nepal will be the first one to get a glimpse of this ultra-cheap car on its roads after India.

Tata Motors has selected a Kathmandu based car dealer – Sipradi Trading Pvt. Ltd. for distribution. This company is already a dealer for Tata motors in the Nepal market and it will get five Tata Nanos for the test drive for customers in Nepal.

“Tata has promised us that the first Nanos for sale would arrive in the first quarter of 2011, soon after manufacturing begins in full swing at the new Tata plant in Gujarat’s Sanand. The first five cars will be test-driven in different locations in Kathmandu, including hilly terrain and downhill, to gauge the Nano’s suitability for Nepal’s roads,” said Pravin Khatiwada, head of Sipradi’s Passenger Car Business Unit division. He also added that his company will begin selling Tata Nano at rock bottom prices in Nepal.

Tata Motors is the fourth largest car manufacturer in the Nepalese market and Tata Indica remains one of the most popular cars along with Maruti and Hyundai models.
